I don’t know about anyone reading this post, but having been in the city centre last weekend for the first time since before Lockdown I am in no hurry back.
Out and about
People not wearing masks on trains, lack of social distancing. Not to mention living in Scotland trying to shop! Carrying an umbrella, taking a face mask on and off, and juggling a Starbucks was not much fun. Not to mention the state of my skin from wearing said face masks!
So knowing from my recent experience that this was all a hassle and not for me with life as it stands, made me think of what other ways can I help people with their fitness.
Find a routine
Finding a regular routine to keep moving is imperative. How many of you are now working from home and as such not clocking those steps from train to office, office to Pret, etc? And all of this movement would have helped you keep in shape. Now the walk is bedroom to bathroom, bathroom to kitchen, kitchen to home office and so it goes. So can you allow yourself that lunchtime walk while you are home working? Can you get out of bed 30 minutes earlier and do a run or a class?
Too much information?
Any internet search will leave you confused with where to start as there are so many free classes out there as a business we couldn’t compete with these. While we are delighted to be back doing classes outdoors and PT sessions both indoors and outdoors, there is now huge demand for bespoke sessions over Facetime and Zoom. I am so proud of the clients I have who kept going and just using body weight have had continued results from training this way.
How can I move more?
So start off by asking yourself how you can move more. How you feel now about your body/ weight/ shape versus 6 months ago. Then decide on what help you need.
We are offereing a mix of in person and remote coaching, so tailoring our packages to suit clients old and new.
My advice is just to make sure everyday you allow yourself time to step away from the computer screen or from housework and parental chores. Let yourself do something to get the adrenaline and hormones going and exercise in whatever way makes you happy.
A healthy lifestyle will benefit you now and in the future!
